Who we are

ZABE Media is a real estate photography and media company based at 3401 S Lamar Blvd Bldg 1, Austin, TX 78704. This policy covers the website at zabemedia.com. You can reach us at [email protected] or (512) 859-6430 with any question about it.

Our booking portal is a separate system hosted on a different domain. When you book a shoot you are handing your details to that platform, and its own privacy terms apply to what happens there.

What we collect

Information you give us

If you send us a message through the contact form, this is what we ask for and why:

• Your name, email address and phone number, so we can reply to you.
• Your message and any details you add, so we can answer or quote accurately rather than guessing.

The form is provided by our customer management platform, which stores your message so we can follow up on it.

We only ask for what we need to answer you. There is no marketing preference checkbox because we do not run a marketing list off this form.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, our host records standard technical information when a page is served: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used for security and to keep the site working, and it is not used to build a profile of you.

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are located, what kind of device they use and how they arrived. It sets cookies to tell one visit from another and reports to us in aggregate. We do not use it to identify you personally, and you can block it with your browser settings or Google's opt-out add-on.

This site does not set advertising cookies and does not run third party advertising trackers.

How we use it

To reply to your inquiry, to quote and schedule work, to deliver photographs and to invoice. That is the whole list. We do not sell personal information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Who we share it with

Only where it is necessary to do the work:

• Our website host, which serves the pages and keeps the security logs described above.
• Our contact form and customer management provider, which receives and stores messages sent through the contact form.
• Google Analytics, which processes the usage information described above.
• Our email provider, because a message you send us arrives in an inbox.
• Our booking and invoicing systems, if you go on to book a shoot.
• 3D tour platforms, where you have ordered a Matterport or Zillow tour, since the tour is hosted by that platform.
• Anyone we are legally required to share it with, which has not happened but would be honest to state.

Photographs of property

This is worth being explicit about, because it is the part of our business that touches other people's homes.

• When you book a shoot, you receive a license to use the images to market that property: MLS, listing portals, your own website, print and social.
• We retain copyright in the photographs, which is standard across the industry.
• We may use selected frames in our own portfolio, on this website and on our social channels.
• If you or the seller would rather we did not, tell us and we will not. We do not need a reason. Say so when you book, or at any point afterward, and the property comes out of our portfolio and off our social.
• We photograph property, not people. Where people are unavoidably in frame at an event or a community shoot, we handle releases before the shoot rather than after.

How long we keep things

Inquiries that do not turn into work are kept for a reasonable period while there is still a chance you come back to us, then deleted. Records relating to actual bookings are kept as long as we need them for accounting and tax purposes. Photograph archives are kept so that we can re supply a gallery you have lost, which clients ask for more often than you would think.

Your choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will deal with it. There is no form to fill in and we will not make it difficult.

Texas residents and residents of states with specific privacy statutes may have additional rights under their own state law. Contact us and we will honor them.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and hosted on a managed platform with its own security controls. No system is perfect, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something, but we do not hold large amounts of personal data and we do not keep payment card details ourselves at all.

Children

This site is aimed at real estate professionals and property owners. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Links to other sites

Our booking portal, our tour hosting platforms and our social profiles are separate services with their own privacy policies. Once you follow a link off this site, what happens there is governed by their terms rather than ours.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be made before the new practice starts, not after it.
